Elias (US, 2026)

Brief Synopsis

A photographic historian discovers a recurring anomaly in images from the twentieth century: an unexplained human-sized space beside some of history’s most famous figures. Similar gaps appear aboard the Titanic, at the Solvay Conference, on a Chaplin film set, in Picasso’s studio, at Yalta, among The Beatles and inside NASA Mission Control.

Archivists, physicists, intelligence officers, biographers and witnesses offer convincing but contradictory accounts of the missing man. Some describe him as a political adviser, others as a waiter, interpreter or filmmaker. One theory claims that he did not reflect light; another suggests that governments deliberately erased him. A family album contains hundreds of stories about him—but not a single image.

As the investigation moves from public history into private memory, an elderly woman named Margaret claims that Elias was her husband. According to her, he was never invisible. People simply failed to notice him—until someone raised a camera.
